Rays' Kiermaier to Have Hip Surgery, Zunino to Undergo Thoracic Outlet Surgery

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed center fielder Kevin Kiermaier on the 10-day injured list Tuesday after he cut his arm making a diving attempt to catch a ball.
Kiermaier to Undergo Left Hip Labrum Surgery
Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said Kiermaier will undergo left hip labrum surgery. The surgery is expected to keep Kiermaier out for the remainder of the 2023 season.
Zunino to Undergo Thoracic Outlet Surgery
Catcher Mike Zunino, who has been sidelined since June 9, will undergo thoracic outlet surgery. The surgery is expected to relieve pressure on the nerves and blood vessels in Zunino's neck and shoulder.
The Rays are hopeful that both Kiermaier and Zunino will be able to return to the team healthy in 2024.
