2024 Democratic National Convention to be held in Chicago
Convention to be held August 19 through August 22
Delegates from all 50 states and US territories to convene in Chicago
The Democratic National Committee today announced that Chicago will host the 2024 Democratic National Convention at the United Center from August 19 to 22.
"Chicago is a city with a rich Democratic tradition, and we are proud to bring the 2024 Democratic National Convention to the Windy City," said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. "Chicago is a city that represents the values of our party: diversity, inclusion, and opportunity."
The convention will be held at the United Center, which has a capacity of over 20,000 people. The convention will be the first to be held in Chicago since 1968.
"We are thrilled to welcome the Democratic National Convention back to Chicago," said Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. "Chicago is a city that is open to all, and we are excited to showcase our city to the world."
The Democratic National Convention is a presidential nominating convention in which delegates of the United States Democratic Party will select the party's nominees for president and vice president. The convention will be held from August 19 to 22, 2024.
